Holidays can be deleted in the settings.  

 

Go to System -> Settings -> General -> Holidays.

 

Select the holiday to be deleted and click on "Delete holiday".

In order to prevent "accidental" deletion, the deletion must be confirmed again.

Confirm the deletion by clicking the "Yes" button.
